Free Color Consultation

We feel color consultation is very important and offer it free of charge as part of our regular service. Spending time on color consultation at the beginning of the job helps prevent the common problem of customers suddenly hating the color at the end of the job, preventing them from having to pay for another coat of paint. Usually people pick colors from a little swatch, not realizing how different it will look on a larger surface in changing light.

We like to put up lots of 2’x2′ color samples on the wall or exterior siding of the surface to be painted, using at least 3 choices for each color you are interested in, one a little lighter, one a little darker, applying as many as 10 to 15 colors in order to find the perfect one for your project.

We like to let you live with those colors for a couple of days so you can see what they look like over time in different lights. We also enjoy working with interior designers and colorists. My wife, Kerry Lee MacLean, a famous artist, author and illustrator of 10 children’s books, including Pigs Over Boulder and Peaceful Piggy Meditation, will come in on difficult color combinations.
